Principal RF IC Design Leader

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal RF IC Design Leader with a proven track record in the industry to spearhead the development of RF intellectual property (IP) alongside a team of internal and external RF design engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and realizing RF architecture and circuits for our future low-power battery and battery-free products. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Defining state-of-the-art RF IP architecture and circuits for our next-generation low-power IoT platform, overseeing the entire process from conception and design through to testing and production.
  • Leading a team in designing, laying out, and testing RF IP to ensure successful product implementation, qualification, and production launch.
  • Integrating RF IP within a larger System-on-Chip (SOC), package, and PCB while addressing coupling and emissions issues.
  • Providing RF expertise within a collaborative team environment, working alongside other designers, test engineers, and project managers.
  • Debugging complex technical issues related to the radio section of the SoCs, including interfaces, digital systems, power management units, and packaging.
  • Recruiting and directing internal and external team members to meet target specifications and tape-out deadlines.
  • Benchmarking competitive solutions and IPs, staying abreast of technology and standard trends, and contributing to the BU’s wireless roadmap.

Profile:

Background Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in RFIC design (PhD preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in CMOS RF SoCs design, including expertise in advanced IoT process nodes such as 22nm, and circuit implementations below 1V.
  • Demonstrated experience in transitioning low-power RF transceivers into high-volume production.

Professional Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding and experience in RF IP requirements, RF system analysis, and block specification along the signal path.
  • Proficiency in designing RF/analog/mixed-signal blocks in deep-submicron CMOS, including LNAs, PAs, mixers, PLLs, VCOs, crystal oscillators, data converters, and filters.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art RF IC design/simulation tools and methodologies, as well as RF measurement instruments/analyzers.
  • Experience in industrialization, qualification for production, and certification of RF IP and IC solutions.

Languages:

  • Fluent in oral and written English.
  • Proficiency in other languages (especially French or German) is a plus.
