Daily Responsibilities:
Manage Supplier Relationships Globally
- Serve as the primary contact within Procurement for assigned sustainability projects, programs, and suppliers.
- Conduct commercial supplier qualification activities to facilitate the development of strategic suppliers.
- Foster collaborative relationships with suppliers, effectively addressing performance and capability issues to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Ensure suppliers adhere to ethical business practices, code-of-conduct programs, corporate safety policies, and social responsibility initiatives.
- Communicate important supplier management updates and decisions to various levels within the organization, including executive leadership.
- Involve senior management as needed to reinforce commitment and engagement from suppliers.
- Represent the interests of the supply base within the organization and communicate organizational priorities back to suppliers.
Drive Negotiations with Suppliers
- Lead or participate in contract negotiations.
- Oversee sourcing events and the RFQ process.
- Develop a contract strategy for each project, including initiation, negotiation, and implementation of terms and conditions.
- Integrate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiation strategies.
Lead Supplier Performance
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop a comprehensive view of supplier performance.
- Gather and communicate site-specific priorities to suppliers.
- Manage and lead relationships with strategic suppliers within assigned categories.
- Work with internal stakeholders to establish key performance metrics for strategic suppliers and monitor performance against these standards to drive continuous improvement.
- Prioritize and organize strategic supplier events, including Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review Meetings.
Build and Implement Category Strategy
- Engage in supplier segmentation and strategic goal-setting activities.
- Provide market intelligence and pricing trends to relevant internal stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Apply should-cost models for assigned categories, benchmarking against the global marketplace.
- Act as the subject matter expert for energy and water categories, sharing knowledge with key stakeholders to enhance planning, forecasting, and execution.
- Create and distribute regular reports on the assigned portfolio.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously with minimal supervision; strong project management skills.
- 5+ years of proven experience in Indirect Procurement; experience in energy procurement is a plus.
- Solid understanding of energy markets, energy generation, and the legal, regulatory, pricing, and billing structures of energy and water contracts.
- Strong modeling and data analysis capabilities.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Comfortable interacting with senior leaders and executives; skilled in delivering executive-level presentations.
