Leading Expert – Energy Power Plant & Microgrid Control Technology

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global technology organisation for an experienced Leading Expert in Energy Power Plant and Microgrid Control Technology. This is a senior technical leadership role focused on driving innovation, shaping product development and building core capabilities within the digital energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead R&D activities across plant control and microgrid technologies.

  • Develop innovative solutions aligned with European market and customer requirements.

  • Provide technical leadership for product development and technology roadmaps.

  • Work with European power companies and strategic partners on technical initiatives.

  • Monitor industry trends and standards, identifying opportunities for innovation.

  • Represent the organisation at relevant industry events and conferences.

Key Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience with Power Plant Controllers (PPC), Microgrid Controllers (MGCC) and/or Energy Management Systems (EMS).

  • Proven experience delivering new energy power plant and microgrid projects in Europe.

  • Strong knowledge of European safety standards and power plant environments.

  • Experience leading R&D for products or solutions deployed across multiple 100MW+ European projects.

  • Experience with Siemens or Schneider Electric solutions for microgrid control and integration is highly desirable.

  • Experience in power forecasting, power market analysis, VPP development or power system software would be advantageous.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience working across international teams.

  • Fluent English and willingness to travel across Europe and occasionally China.
