Component Engineer - Amsterdam - 12 Month FTC
I am currently looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Component Engineer to join the team in Amsterdam. If you have a strong understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical components and enjoy solving complex technical challenges, this could be the perfect role for you.
As a Component Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the sales, purchasing, and quality teams while ensuring the integrity and performance of electronic components. You’ll work closely with customers and manufacturers, contribute to testing and troubleshooting, and support data-driven initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support on part numbers, specifications, lifecycle, compliance, and more
- Assist customers with component selection and new design-ins
- Inspect and validate electronic and electro-mechanical components
- Support quality control, including non-conformance analysis and documentation
- Contribute to testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of procedures
- Collaborate with analytics teams on component-related data projects
- Communicate with original manufacturers for technical documentation and issue resolution
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, supporting NCs, RMAs, and customer challenges
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (advanced qualifications are a plus)
- Strong understanding of datasheets, schematics, and circuit design
- Experience with component testing tools and quality validation processes
- Familiarity with standards such as ISO9001, ISO14001, ESD S20.20, or AS6081 (preferred)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking ability
- Effective communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
