Business Development Manager – South of China

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join a high-performing global Sales team, focused on driving growth across the APAC region.

This is a senior, high-impact role where you will be responsible for expanding and accelerating the customer pipeline across key strategic business areas and your assigned territory or vertical. You will own the messaging and customer engagement strategy, positioning the organisation at a senior level with clients and prospects, and building long-term, value-led partnerships.

You will operate as a key commercial influencer within the organisation, working closely with internal stakeholders to shape go-to-market strategies and identify new opportunities. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, competitive environment, enjoys winning, and takes pride in developing both clients and colleagues around them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable revenue growth across assigned APAC territory/vertical
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Build, manage, and expand a strong pipeline of new and existing customers
  • Engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels, including senior decision-makers and C-suite executives
  • Represent the business in a professional, credible, and consultative manner
  • Travel extensively across the region and internationally to develop and maintain key relationships
  • Maintain a disciplined and structured CRM approach to pipeline management and forecasting
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance sales culture, including mentoring and supporting peers

About You

  • Proven track record in franchised distribution, independent distribution, or supplier sales within high-reliability industries
  • Strong understanding of electronic components markets, including commodities and memory products
  • Demonstrated success delivering profitable growth in competitive, fast-moving environments
  • Established network within relevant territory or vertical markets
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to quickly understand customer needs and align solutions accordingly
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience using CRM and ERP systems to manage accounts and analyse customer requirements
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies such as Miller Heiman, Challenger, or Sandler (desirable)
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing a high degree of autonomy
  • International travel capability (30%+), including possession of a valid passport and driving licence
