We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a global manufacturer of advanced semiconductor process equipment, for a Field Process Engineer to support leading-edge customer fabs across the US.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role responsible for optimising equipment and process performance, troubleshooting issues and supporting new technology and product introductions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead process qualification, tool matching and requalification activities.

  • Run DOEs to optimise process windows, uniformity, defectivity and throughput.

  • Troubleshoot process excursions using metrology, equipment data and statistical analysis.

  • Support equipment ramps, conversions, node transitions and new product introductions.

  • Provide process expertise to customer engineering teams and feed field data into internal development teams.

  • Produce technical reports, 8D documentation and customer presentations.

  • Mentor Field Service Engineers on process fundamentals.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related field.

  • 3+ years' semiconductor process engineering experience in a fab or customer-facing equipment environment.

  • Experience with at least one semiconductor unit process.

  • Knowledge of DOE and statistical analysis, using JMP, Minitab or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with semiconductor fab metrology and characterisation techniques.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.

  • Willingness to work in a cleanroom, including off-shift and weekend support.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.

  • US work authorisation without sponsorship.

Desirable

  • MS or PhD in a relevant discipline.

  • Supplier-side customer fab experience.

  • Leading-edge logic or advanced memory experience.

  • SPC, tool data analysis, fault detection or Six Sigma experience.

What’s on Offer

  • Technical career development with established senior individual contributor pathways.

  • Structured training, including factory-based training.

  • Medical, dental and vision benefits.

  • 401(k) with employer contribution.

  • PTO, tuition assistance and relocation support where applicable.

Working pattern: Primarily customer-fab based, with on-call and periodic off-shift support. Travel typically 20–50%, increasing during installations, ramps and training.

If you are an experienced semiconductor process engineer looking for a technically challenging field role with direct ownership of equipment performance, we would be interested in hearing from you.
