PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Project Engineer oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects for both our Connector Group and its customers. From project inception to manufacturing launch, they ensure adherence to Program Management procedures and effective project management principles. The role demands creative problem-solving, strategic thinking, technical expertise, and project management skills to deliver projects on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.

REPORTS TO: Program Manager, NA & Asia

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and execute engineering projects for our Connector Group and its customers.
  • Develop and maintain project charters, GANTT charts, and time schedules in accordance with our Program Management procedures.
  • Identify and secure project resources within established timelines and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure quality, timeline milestones, and cost targets are met.
  • Facilitate regular kick-off and status meetings with customers and project teams to address issues and upcoming tasks.
  • Present project status updates to key stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among project team members.
  • Resolve project conflicts and obstacles, engaging with suppliers and core team members for solutions.
  • Prepare project presentations, engineering reports, and correspondence for senior management and external customers.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between cross-functional departments, customers, and suppliers.
  • Track and approve project expenditures to maintain financial targets.
  • Maintain current and complete project documents in appropriate storage.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for existing projects, focusing on cost reduction, quality enhancement, and business growth.
  • Provide support for program try-out and launch activities at our Manufacturing Plants or designated locations, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project engineering experience.
  • Preferable experience in molding and assembly manufacturing of plastic connectors.
  • Proficiency in mathematical, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Strong knowledge of project management, spreadsheet, and word processing software/applications.
  • Demonstrated success in project management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with AIAG Core Tools and TS-16949 is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel, including internationally, up to 25% of the time.
