Product Engineering Manager - Wide Bandgap
Remote | Europe

Lead advanced power device engineering. Enable next-generation wide bandgap technology. Shape the future of power electronics.

Are you a senior power semiconductor expert with deep device physics knowledge and strong product engineering leadership experience? Do you want to influence the development and release of next-generation wide bandgap power devices?

A global semiconductor manufacturer with a significant presence in discrete power technologies is seeking a Product Engineering Manager. This role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in Europe.

What’s in it for you?
  • Fully remote position anywhere in Europe
  • Leadership role within advanced power semiconductor development
  • Work on cutting-edge wide bandgap technologies (including SiC)
  • Influence full product lifecycle - from characterization to volume release
  • Collaborate with international manufacturing and R&D teams
  • Stable, globally recognised semiconductor organisation
  • Long-term career progression in a technically advanced environment

The Opportunity
You will lead the Product Engineering function, working closely with technology development and manufacturing teams to bring innovative power semiconductor devices into production.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and developing the product engineering team
  • Driving characterization and validation of new devices prior to release
  • Supporting new product introduction and production ramp
  • Managing yield enhancement and statistical process control systems
  • Overseeing wafer sort and final test disposition
  • Managing change control for production products
  • Collaborating with reliability and quality teams on failure analysis and RMAs
  • Supporting the full lifecycle from development to sustained production
This role sits at the intersection of device physics, manufacturing, yield optimisation, and product release, offering both strategic influence and technical depth.

Your Background
  • PhD or Master’s degree in Semiconductor Device Physics, Materials Science, or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience within power semiconductors
  • Strong knowledge of device characterization, qualification, and release to volume
  • Experience with wide bandgap technologies (SiC strongly preferred)
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes
  • Strong data analysis and statistical evaluation skills
  • Experience with yield analysis and quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma advantageous)
  • Ability to work across international, cross-functional engineering teams

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Fully remote European working model
  • Long-term stability within a global semiconductor leader
  • Opportunity to shape future wide bandgap product strategy

If you are ready to lead advanced power semiconductor product engineering while working remotely within a global technology organisation, this could be the right next step.
