About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Analog Layout Manager to lead our local team of analog/mixed-signal layout engineers and oversee deliverables from an external contractor design house. This role is critical in ensuring high?quality, robust, and timely layout execution for complex IC designs. The ideal candidate is a technically strong leader who can balance hands?on guidance with effective project management and cross?functional communication.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a local team of analog and mixed-signal layout engineers.
  • Provide technical direction, performance feedback, and career development support.
  • Establish best practices, layout methodologies, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate resource planning, workload distribution, and scheduling.

Project & Vendor Management

  • Manage day-to-day interaction with a contractor design house, ensuring alignment on quality, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Review contractor output, provide clear technical feedback, and enforce design standards.
  • Track project milestones, resolve technical issues, and escalate risks proactively.
  • Ensure efficient collaboration between internal teams (design, verification, CAD, product engineering) and external partners.

Technical Ownership

  • Oversee layout development for analog, mixed-signal, and high?precision circuits (e.g., amplifiers, ADC/DAC, bandgaps, PLLs, power management blocks).
  • Conduct detailed layout reviews for electromigration, matching, parasitics, ESD, reliability, and DRC/LVS compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in layout flows, automation, and PDK usage.
  • Support designers in identifying layout?dependent effects and ensuring first?silicon success.

Process & Quality Assurance

  • Define and maintain layout documentation, sign-off checklists, and release procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to foundry and internal design rules, PDK updates, and CAD guidelines.
  • Promote a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal IC layout, with at least 2–3 years in a lead or managerial role.
  • Deep knowledge of analog layout fundamentals (matching, symmetry, shielding, routing strategies, parasitic awareness).
  • Strong experience with industry?standard tools: Cadence Virtuoso, Calibre, Assura, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience managing or interfacing with outsourced layout teams or contractor design houses.
  • Solid understanding of deep?submicron CMOS technologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with complex mixed?signal IC's and IP integration.
  • Familiarity with advanced reliability requirements (EM/IR, LDE, ESD).
  • Knowledge of scripting (SKILL, Python, Tcl) for layout automation is a plus.
  • Prior experience building or scaling layout teams.
  • Comfortable working with international, cross?functional teams.
