Role Summary
We are seeking a commercially driven and highly motivated Senior Business Development Manager to support revenue growth and strategic expansion across Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities while managing and strengthening relationships with key accounts across complex industrial and manufacturing environments.
This is a senior individual contributor position with the potential to support future team growth as the business expands. The role requires experience managing long sales cycles, engaging senior decision-makers, and collaborating effectively within an international organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Develop and execute a regional business development strategy aligned with broader commercial objectives.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities across targeted industrial and manufacturing sectors.
- Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and discovery through proposal development, negotiation, and contract completion.
- Achieve and exceed revenue, margin, and business growth targets.
- Maintain an accurate and well-managed sales pipeline within the CRM system.
Account Management & Customer Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers and industry stakeholders across Europe.
- Act as a key commercial contact for major accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Develop account growth plans that identify opportunities for additional products, services, and solutions.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to inform commercial strategy.
- Gather and communicate customer insights to internal product, technical, and leadership teams.
- Represent the organisation at industry events, exhibitions, conferences, and networking activities across Europe.
Collaboration & Internal Engagement
- Work closely with technical, engineering, service, and operational teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Collaborate with international colleagues to support regional and global commercial initiatives.
- Provide regular business reporting, including pipeline reviews, forecasting, win/loss analysis, and market feedback.
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 7 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or strategic account management.
- Proven success in achieving sales targets within complex, consultative, or long-cycle sales environments.
- Experience selling capital equipment, industrial technology, automation solutions, manufacturing systems, or similarly complex offerings.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience using CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly across Europe.
Desirable
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Technology, or a related discipline.
- Understanding of advanced manufacturing, automation, digital transformation, or connected industrial technologies.
- Experience operating within international or multi-regional organisations.
- Familiarity with structured procurement and tender processes.
