Commodity Buyer – Electronic Components

Memory | Storage | CPU | Supplier Sourcing

We are partnering with a global organisation operating within the electronics components supply chain to recruit a Commodity Buyer based in China.

This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing electronic components to support customer orders and project requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying reliable suppliers, securing competitive pricing, and ensuring supply continuity within a fast-paced trading environment.

This position would suit someone with strong experience in memory, storage, or CPU procurement, particularly within distribution, brokerage, or electronics supply chain organisations.


The Role

As Commodity Buyer, you will:

• Source and purchase electronic components and computing commodities, including memory, storage, and CPUs
• Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers across regional and international markets
• Locate qualified materials using internal systems, online tools, and external supply networks
• Develop and manage strong relationships with new and existing suppliers
• Analyse market trends, pricing movements, and supply dynamics across key commodities
• Place and manage purchase orders, including expediting and delivery coordination
• Support commercial teams by identifying sourcing opportunities to meet customer requirements
• Contribute to the development and execution of procurement and supply chain strategies
• Ensure sourcing activities meet business objectives and performance KPIs


What We’re Looking For

• Around 5 years’ experience purchasing electronic components, ideally memory, storage, or CPUs
• Experience sourcing both short-term spot requirements and longer-term supply needs
• Background within electronics distribution, trading, brokerage, or supply chain environments
• Strong supplier sourcing and negotiation skills
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-pressure environments

Candidates with a degree in supply chain, business, or marketing may also be considered if they have relevant procurement or sourcing experience.
