Take Ownership of Finance Operations in a Growing International Business
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head Bookkeeper to join a dynamic, fast-paced international organisation.
This is an opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes, and partnering with stakeholders across the business. You'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring smooth day-to-day finance reporting operations.
If you're someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in delivering accurate financial information that supports business decision-making, we'd love to hear from you.
The Opportunity
As Head Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's bookkeeping activities and ensuring accurate, timely financial information is available to support the business. You'll work closely with finance leadership, external advisors, and operational teams, helping to maintain strong financial controls and efficient reporting processes.
This role offers significant autonomy and the chance to make a real impact within a growing and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full bookkeeping cycle through to trial balance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across multiple entities and currencies.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare statutory filings and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
  • Perform and review bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage fixed asset records and related accounting activities.
  • Oversee invoicing processes and support accounts receivable activities.
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
  • Work closely with external auditors and assist with audit preparation.
  • Support the preparation of management reports and financial analysis.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and reporting procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to provide accounting support and financial insight.
  • Support inventory accounting and stock reconciliations where applicable.
About You
You are a proactive finance professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent organisational skills. You enjoy working independently, taking ownership of your responsibilities, and contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment.
You'll likely bring:
  • Professional bookkeeping qualification.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior bookkeeping or accounting position.
  • Strong understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Previous exposure to international or multi-entity accounting environments.
  • Experience using ERP systems and finance software.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and reconciliations.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to challenge existing processes.
What You'll Get
  • A highly visible role with genuine ownership and responsibility.
  • The opportunity to influence finance processes and best practices.
  • Exposure to international operations and a diverse stakeholder group.
  • A collaborative and supportive working environment.
  • Career development opportunities within a growing organisation.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
