Photolithography Equipment Engineer
A semiconductor manufacturing site is seeking an experienced engineer to support lithography-related production tools within a high-volume wafer fabrication environment.
This position is responsible for improving equipment stability, sustaining production readiness, and driving technical enhancements across the lithography area. The engineer will take ownership of key patterning tools, provide hands-on fault support, contribute to capital and upgrade projects, and work closely with operations and maintenance teams to improve output, reliability, and process consistency.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Take technical ownership of lithography equipment used in daily manufacturing.
  • Improve tool availability, performance consistency, and overall operational reliability.
  • Investigate recurring equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Create, refine, and manage scheduled maintenance tasks and technical work instructions.
  • Provide direct troubleshooting support for equipment faults and process-impacting events.
  • Partner with production and engineering teams on initiatives that improve utilisation, quality, and cycle efficiency.
  • Support installation activities, hardware modifications, qualification work, and equipment changeovers.
  • Assist in developing technician capability through coaching and technical guidance.
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, robotics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Several years of experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment, with a strong background in photolithography.
  • Practical knowledge of track systems, exposure tools, and associated support equipment used in wafer fabrication.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a structured approach to technical analysis and fault diagnosis.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, maintenance, and production teams.
Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience in a wafer fab environment supporting lithography operations.
  • Familiarity with equipment improvement programmes focused on uptime, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Exposure to project-based work such as tool installs, upgrades, refurbishment, or process transfers.
  • Understanding of structured continuous improvement methods such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar manufacturing disciplines.
