Principal/Senior Engineer – MV DC-DC Power Conversion

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global technology organisation for a Principal/Senior Engineer – MV DC-DC Power Conversion to lead the development of high-power medium-voltage DC-DC conversion technologies for applications including data centres, renewable energy, energy storage and EV charging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop technical roadmaps for MV DC-DC power conversion within 10kV–35kV Solid-State Transformer (SST) systems.

  • Lead architecture design, simulation and development of high-power isolated DC-DC converters using DAB, LLC and CLLC topologies.

  • Lead Medium-Frequency Transformer (MFT) design, addressing insulation, partial discharge and thermal management challenges.

  • Drive R&D innovation and collaborate with leading research institutes and universities.

  • Provide technical support throughout strategic customer projects, including prototypes, testing and on-site technical consultation.

Key Requirements

  • 5–8+ years’ relevant industry experience in medium-voltage power conversion, SST or related technologies.

  • Strong expertise in SST and MV high-power isolated DC-DC converters.

  • Proven knowledge of DAB, LLC and CLLC topologies and control strategies.

  • Strong experience with Medium-Frequency Transformer design, high-voltage/high-frequency insulation and partial discharge suppression.

  • Experience with high-voltage SiC devices, gate driver design and series voltage balancing.

  • Proven experience across the full hardware development lifecycle and project management.

  • Strong proficiency in PLECS and experience with electric and magnetic field simulation.

  • Experience developing 6kV, 10kV or 35kV SST systems is highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical, technical leadership and problem-solving skills.
