Senior Chemical Engineer, Global Facilities - Semiconductor US

A leading global semiconductor manufacturer is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer, Global Facilities to provide specialist engineering expertise across the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of critical facilities infrastructure supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing environments worldwide.
The role will serve as a technical subject-matter expert for Chemical and Slurry systems, supporting capacity and scenario planning, infrastructure development, system reliability, and operational excellence across a global manufacturing network. The successful candidate will develop safe and reliable system designs, ensure material compatibility with chemicals, establish engineering standards and specifications, and provide technical guidance throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop safe, reliable designs for Chemical and Slurry systems, ensuring appropriate materials of construction and compatibility with all chemicals used.
- Develop, maintain, and review corporate equipment specifications, engineering standards, and design guidelines.
- Advise manufacturing sites on system capacity, load projections, and scenario-driven infrastructure requirements.
- Evaluate infrastructure additions and modifications in response to manufacturing and technology roadmap changes.
- Provide engineering standards and technical requirements to external design partners and review design packages, construction documents, and engineering deliverables.
- Support project cost and schedule development while ensuring scope remains aligned with operational and stakeholder requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Facilities, Design, Construction, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to ensure technical alignment and effective project delivery.
- Provide technical guidance during construction, resolving design issues and ensuring adherence to established change-management processes.
- Act as a global technical SME, supporting Operations, Maintenance, and Manufacturing teams with risk analysis, system optimisation, and reliability improvements.
- Lead technical evaluations including FMEA, single-point-of-failure analysis, risk mitigation, benchmarking of best-known methods, and corporate facilities documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of global facilities engineering practices and standards.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with high-purity chemical systems, ideally within semiconductor manufacturing or a closely related advanced manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and associated facilities infrastructure.
- Experience with chemical distribution, slurry systems, facilities engineering, or other high-purity process support systems.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, organisational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical workloads across multiple simultaneous projects.
- Strong customer-focused approach with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, manufacturing, construction, and procurement functions.
- Experience conducting FMEA, reliability analysis, risk assessments, and single-point-of-failure evaluations.
- Experience developing and maintaining engineering standards, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience with or interest in applying Agentic AI, automation, and AI-enabled workflows to engineering and facilities processes.
