Software Standardization and Industry Development Engineer
Location: Edinburgh, or other offices across Europe

A leading consumer tech company is seeking a Software Standardization Engineer to drive innovation and represent the organization in key software, open-source, and mobile OS standardization efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent the company at international organizations (ECMA, W3C, OCX) in the fields of software, open source, and mobile operating systems.

• Contribute to the evolution of internal technologies, including programming languages, operating systems, and development tools.

• Monitor and analyze new technologies and regulations, particularly EU initiatives (e.g., DMA/DSA), and provide actionable insights.

• Collaborate across European and HQ teams to align strategies, define working plans, and support external technology partnerships.

• Promote innovation projects and application pilots with European partners and support industry events, summits, and workshops.

• Engage in research collaboration with European academia and support project management tasks.

What You Bring:

• Master’s or PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.

• Strong skills in regulatory analysis, technology trend reporting, and professional presentation.

• Practical experience in mobile app development (iOS, Android, or HarmonyOS) and familiarity with the software development lifecycle.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multicultural environments.
