The global data centre market continues its rapid expansion, with innovation and sustainability at the forefront of new developments. A prime example of this momentum comes from Paris, where CloudHQ has just marked a significant milestone: the inauguration of its new, state-of-the-art data centre campus in Lisses, Grand Paris Sud. This project is not just adding substantial capacity; it’s also setting new benchmarks for environmental integration in one of Europe's key digital hubs.

The first phase of the massive 140MW CDG Campus, originally planned in 2021, brings substantial capacity to the region. The project, which commenced ground-breaking in late 2022, features two buildings totaling 53,000 sqm and 24 data halls each within Essonne’s Leonardo da Vinci business park.

Notably, the facility emphasizes sustainable energy solutions. Its waste heat will supply Corbeil-Essonnes’ district heating system, providing sustainable energy to approximately 7,000 homes – a pioneering initiative for the Île-de-France region. Michel Bisson, President of Grand Paris South, lauded the project's ecological exemplary nature and its ability to create synergies.

CloudHQ, founded by industry veteran Hossein Fateh, boasts a global portfolio of 56 operational or in-development data centres, collectively offering around 1.1GW of capacity across the US, EMEA, and APAC regions. The company reports having built and leased 2.4 million square feet and 320MW of capacity since its inception, with over 970MW contracted and 580MW+ under construction as of November 2024.

This continued investment in large-scale, sustainable data infrastructure across strategic locations like Paris further signals robust demand for specialized talent within the data centre sector, aligning with MRL Consulting Group’s global executive and senior-level recruitment focus.
