Excess Buyer – Singapore | Hybrid
The Opportunity
We are looking for a commercially focused Excess Buyer to join a growing APAC team based in Singapore, working in a hybrid environment.
This is a key account ownership role within the Excess function, giving you responsibility for managing supplier relationships, qualifying excess inventory and converting opportunities into commercially successful, customer-backed purchases.
You’ll work closely with Sales and other internal teams to identify demand, develop supplier relationships and maximise opportunities across the APAC electronic components market.
The role also offers a clear career path, with strong performers able to progress towards Senior Excess Buyer responsibilities.
What You’ll Be Doing

Manage a portfolio of small and mid-sized excess accounts and develop strong supplier relationships.

Review, qualify and prioritise excess, obsolete and unwanted electronic component inventory.

Validate key inventory information including MPN, manufacturer, quantity, date code, condition, packaging, target price and location.

Identify commercially viable purchase opportunities and negotiate within agreed approval limits.

Escalate complex or high-value opportunities when appropriate.

Work closely with Sales to match available inventory with customer demand.

Identify proactive sales opportunities and potential cost-saving opportunities.

Support purchase order follow-up, supplier communication, delivery updates and issue resolution.

Maintain accurate CRM records, supplier profiles, opportunity notes and account development plans.

Work collaboratively with Sales, Logistics, Quality and Finance teams.

Support and coach Junior Excess Buyers, helping them develop their account management, outreach and commercial skills.
What We’re Looking For
We’re interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

EMS/OEM supply chain

A commercially focused role within the electronics industry
You should be comfortable working with inventory information such as MPNs, manufacturers, quantities, date codes, packaging and lead times, with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Strong commercial judgement, negotiation and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritise opportunities effectively.
Technical & Industry Experience
