Excess Buyer – Thailand | Remote
The Opportunity

We are looking for a commercially focused Excess Buyer to join a growing APAC team, working remotely from Thailand.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in electronic components, purchasing, sourcing, distribution or supply chain to take ownership of supplier accounts and excess inventory opportunities across the APAC market.

You’ll be responsible for identifying and qualifying excess inventory, building strong supplier relationships, negotiating purchases and working closely with Sales to match available inventory with customer demand.

The role offers a clear career path, with strong performers able to progress towards Senior Excess Buyer responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage a portfolio of small and mid-sized excess accounts and develop long-term supplier relationships.

• Review and qualify excess, obsolete and unwanted electronic component inventory.

• Assess key inventory information including MPN, manufacturer, quantity, date code, condition, packaging, location and target price.

• Identify commercially viable purchasing opportunities and negotiate within agreed approval limits.

• Work closely with Sales to match supplier inventory with customer demand.

• Identify proactive sales opportunities and potential cost-saving opportunities for customers.

• Coordinate purchase orders, supplier communication, delivery updates and issue resolution with internal teams.

• Maintain accurate CRM records, supplier profiles and opportunity information.

• Build and develop supplier relationships across APAC.

• Support and coach Junior Excess Buyers, helping them improve their commercial and account management skills.

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from candidates with experience in areas such as:

• Purchasing or procurement

• Electronic component distribution

• Excess or obsolete inventory

• Semiconductor supply chain

• Sourcing

• Supplier or account management

• EMS/OEM/ODM procurement

• A commercially focused role within the electronics industry

You’ll ideally have a good understanding of electronic components and be comfortable working with information such as MPNs, manufacturers, quantities, date codes, packaging and lead times.

Strong commercial judgement, negotiation skills, communication and attention to detail are essential.

Useful Technical Experience

Experience with some of the following would be highly advantageous:

• Semiconductors

• Passives

• Connectors

• Electromechanical components

• Sensors

• Independent electronic component distribution

• Excess inventory or broker environments

Experience working with OEM, EMS, ODM, OCM, Tier suppliers or distributors would also be beneficial.
