Senior HOGAN IMS Mainframe Developer
12 Month Contract
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting HOGAN-based banking applications, ensuring solutions meet business requirements, technical standards, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will have strong mainframe development expertise, experience within the banking or payments industry, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
•
Contribute across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from analysis through deployment and support.
•
Analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
•
Develop high-quality, well-structured, optimised, and maintainable HOGAN application code.
•
Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture principles, including scalability, resilience, testability, and reusability.
•
Apply established design patterns and development best practices.
•
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production and application issues.
•
Perform comprehensive unit, integration, and system testing, covering both functional and technical requirements.
•
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, architects, business analysts, and fellow developers.
•
Ensure all development aligns with Group Architecture and Infrastructure standards.
•
Participate in project planning, release management, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
•
Conduct code reviews and contribute to ongoing application optimisation and performance improvements.
•
Keep up to date with emerging technologies and continuously improve technical capability.
•
Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the development lifecycle.
•
Produce and maintain technical documentation in line with governance and compliance standards.
•
Participate in incident management and disaster recovery (DR) activities, providing technical expertise during major incidents.
•
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing across the development team.
•
Mentor junior developers where required and participate in peer reviews.
