Field Process Engineer – Semiconductor Capital Equipment
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a global manufacturer of advanced semiconductor process equipment, for a Field Process Engineer to support leading-edge customer fabs across the US.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role responsible for optimising equipment and process performance, troubleshooting issues and supporting new technology and product introductions.
Key Responsibilities

Lead process qualification, tool matching and requalification activities.

Run DOEs to optimise process windows, uniformity, defectivity and throughput.

Troubleshoot process excursions using metrology, equipment data and statistical analysis.

Support equipment ramps, conversions, node transitions and new product introductions.

Provide process expertise to customer engineering teams and feed field data into internal development teams.

Produce technical reports, 8D documentation and customer presentations.

Mentor Field Service Engineers on process fundamentals.
About You
-
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related field.

3+ years' semiconductor process engineering experience in a fab or customer-facing equipment environment.

Experience with at least one semiconductor unit process.

Knowledge of DOE and statistical analysis, using JMP, Minitab or equivalent.

Familiarity with semiconductor fab metrology and characterisation techniques.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.

Willingness to work in a cleanroom, including off-shift and weekend support.

Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.

US work authorisation without sponsorship.
Desirable

MS or PhD in a relevant discipline.

Supplier-side customer fab experience.

Leading-edge logic or advanced memory experience.

SPC, tool data analysis, fault detection or Six Sigma experience.

Working pattern: Primarily customer-fab based, with on-call and periodic off-shift support. Travel typically 20–50%, increasing during installations, ramps and training.
