Principal / Senior Staff / Staff System Validation Engineer

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading technology organisation for an experienced System Validation Engineer to support the validation of advanced multiphase DC/DC solutions, including controllers and Smart Power Stages.

This is a highly technical role working across validation, hardware design and cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain comprehensive validation plans.

• Lead bug tracking and work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve root causes.

• Define electrical specifications and lead ATE-to-bench correlation activities.

• Contribute to PCB design and layout.

• Develop accurate models of package and PCB parasitics.

• Drive automated validation methodologies and support development of validation hardware.

• Develop Python-based automation for laboratory test equipment.

Key Requirements

• MEng degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.

• 5–10+ years’ experience in validation of multiphase DC/DC controllers with Smart Power Stages, or equivalent application engineering experience.

• Strong understanding of DrMOS and Smart Power Stage operation within closed-loop, multi-phase controller systems.

• Strong knowledge of Power MOSFET operation at high current levels (100A+) and package/PCB parasitics.

• Experience with PCB design tools such as OrCAD and Allegro.

• Strong understanding of DC/DC controller architectures.

• Experience using Python to automate laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, electronic loads, DMMs and analysers.

• Experience developing automated validation methodologies and PCB hardware for validation activities.

• Understanding of control loop tuning for transient and frequency response is advantageous.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
